"I think that the job of an artist is to keep people's eyes open."

-Robert Rauschenberg

ABOUT MY ART...

It’s about the way color, line, texture, and shapes mix about in the space. Lured by the visceral qualities of paint, the power of differences, and the feeling of putting a mark on a surface, my paintings are created intuitively and spontaneously, each mark made directing the next - a combination of free expression and problem-solving. Using acrylics, oil pastels, graphite, and paper collage, I work between layering and revealing, fascinated by the potential at every encounter.

Ultimately, I hope to capture the essence of the world we share in such a way that others will take notice too and realize the power of differences and work together to preserve our beautiful planet, as imperfect as it may be.
